Warning For 2/25 School Congress Meeting

The students and staff of LiHigh School are hereby warned and notified to meet in Room #5 of the Poultney Small Business Center on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 1:45pm to transact the following business:

  1. To hear the reports of the following committees:
    • Fundraising committee
    • Judicial committee
    • Law Book committee
  2. To hear the reports of the Room Clerks
  3. To discuss and vote on the following proposals:
    • Students shall not return to their homes or the homes of their classmates between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM without prior written consent from a parent or guardian.
    • School begins at 8:30AM for the social entrepreneurial program. Students shall arrive on time every morning, unless they have a valid excuse as determined by their advisors or the Judicial Committee.
    • Voting rights at regular School Congress meetings shall belong to students and staff of LiHigh School. Members of the public, including parents of students, are allowed to attend regular meetings and voice their opinions, but they shall not be given the right to vote during a regular meeting. All votes taken in the presence of parents shall be by paper ballot.
  4. To discuss the appropriate use of technology during the school day.
  5. To transact any other business to come before said meeting.
  6. To adjourn said meeting.

Hi, I'm Kyle. I'm an advisor at LiHigh School. I've been involved in progressive education since I was in high school. I was an original member (and student representative) of the Progressive Program at Green Mountain College, and for my Master's degree, I attended Goddard College, which started the trend toward progressive education in the 1960s. Along with teaching at LiHigh School, I teach courses in creative writing and communications at Green Mountain College. I live with my wife and daughter in Poultney.
