Math Teacher Wanted for Project-Based Learning

math_bulbsWe’re seeking a professional in mathematics or a related field to lead our students, grades 7-11, in the development of their quantitative reasoning skills.

You’ll work with the students in small groups and one-on-one to help them think like mathematicians when it comes to their interest-based projects. You’ll help them strengthen their ability to communicate through numbers; solve real-world problems by collecting, analyzing, and acting on actual data; and improve the academic rigor of their quantitative education.

The ideal teacher will be able to work with the students twice a week in two-hour blocks. Our school is located on Main Street in Poultney, Vermont, about 30 minutes southwest of Rutland.

Hi, I'm Kyle. I'm an advisor at LiHigh School. I've been involved in progressive education since I was in high school. I was an original member (and student representative) of the Progressive Program at Green Mountain College, and for my Master's degree, I attended Goddard College, which started the trend toward progressive education in the 1960s. Along with teaching at LiHigh School, I teach courses in creative writing and communications at Green Mountain College. I live with my wife and daughter in Poultney.
